Brand new personalizations
In Personizely 2.0 we've rebuilt the personalization product from scratch. We took into account a lot of feedback received from our customers as well as the industry's standards. Using the new editor you are going to be able to:
- Targets specific pages using pages rules
- Create multiple variations and edit their target without leaving the main screen
- Track goals
- Split your traffic within a campaign
- Edit any element using our new, enhanced visual editor
- Apply custom written CSS and JS to variations
- Edit in both mobile and desktop modes
A few more words on the personalization editor. In the new editor, you are able to edit any element on the page and customize text/images/URLs as well as the visual aspect with colors, borders, and font size. You can hide specific elements based on the visitor's device or totally hide some elements from the page.
AB testing campaigns
In Personizely 2.0 Campaigns can be both used for Personalization and AB testing. You can create a campaign and target All visitors, which will allow you to show one variation to a certain percent of your visitors, giving you the ability to run experiments with new sales pitches, call to actions, and images and make decisions backed by data to implement them or not.
Improved targeting
Until now the targeting options in Personizely were pretty limited. You only were able to target visitors who match a specific list of filters. Now you're going to be able to Include/Exclude visitors based on these filters while also being able to group filters between them and choose to include/exclude those who match all or any filter in a group. Also, the UTM and Cookie filters were improved and now you can use text matching rules there too.
Goal tracking
Now you're able to track goals like element clicks, page views, and custom events. Goals allow you to attribute goal conversions to Personizely's widgets, personalizations, and experiments. Using our SDK you're now able to track purchases on your websites like you would do with a FB pixel, by just calling ply.trackGoal('Purchase', 100). More info can be found in the helpdesk article.
Reactive personalizations
Now if a visitor submits a form on your website and you have Personalizations anywhere on your page, including other steps of the same widget, they are going to be replaced with fresh data on every change. As an example, this will give you the ability to personalize thank your messages on the forms, so if someone submits a form with a Name field, you can use, "Thank you, John" on the next page, where John is a personalized placeholder.
Change field values on button click or form submit
Now you can change field values (including custom fields) when a visitor performs an action within a widget. Using this you can create Surveys with buttons or change fields automatically once someone opt-ins.
Ability to stop showing a widget once it was manually closed
A new widget frequency display option was added, which gives you the ability to close widgets once they are closed by the visitor. This will give you more flexibility and allow making widgets less annoying.
Improved script bundle performance and size
We reworked our client-facing script (the one that you embed in your sites) and made it even lighter while gaining performance. This will both make your websites faster, bring widgets and campaigns quicker and allow us to build more cool stuff on the basis of that.
